The Catholic Diocese of Torit was created in 1983. Bishop Paride Taban was its first Bishop. The Old man retired in February 7, 2004, and Bishop Akio Johnson was made Apostolic Administrator soon after it, and in August 15, 2007 installed as the Bishop of Torit, Sudan

The people and the Jubilee, 25 years of Dedication
The jubilee was the greatest event of the Diocese. The people came so many to witness the events of their hard work.
